Tips

  • sugar/simple syrup

    To make a simple syrup, mix equal parts of sugar and hot water until sugar has dissolved. Wait until the syrup cools and then store it in a bottle.
  • superfine sugar

    To make superfine sugar, you just need to whiz granulated sugar in a blender until it turns to dust. Superfine sugar is used instead of a regular one because it melts faster.
  • garnish

    Daiquiri does not traditionally have a garnish, but a lime wedge or a lime wheel is often added, either attached to the rim or plunked into the drink.
  • drinkware

    Daiquiri is typically served in a chilled cocktail glass, but a coupe glass is also often used. A frozen daiquiri, on the other hand, is more commonly served in a rocks glass.
  • flavored daiquiri

    A daiquiri can be flavored with various fruits like strawberries, pineapple, and raspberries. To make a flavored daiquiri, you add the preferred choice of fruit to a shaker with other ingredients, then muddle the fruit to release the juice. Ingredients

60 ml (6 cl) (2 oz) white Cuban rum

20 ml (2 cl) (2/3 oz) fresh lime juice

2 bar spoons (2.5 ml) (1/8 oz) (0.25 cl) superfine s ugar

Preparation

Step 1/2

Add the ingredients to a cocktail shaker, then first, stir to dissolve the sugar.

Step 2/2

Add the ice to the shaker and shake, then strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
