Cornas | Local Wine Appellation From Rhône-Alpes, France | TasteAtlas

Cornas

Cornas is a small French appellation located in the eponymous commune that is situated on the western banks of the Rhone river. The region produces full-bodied and robust wines that are exclusively made from Syrah. They are typically dark, rich, mineral, and concentrated, while their aromatic profile usually displays a combination of blackberry and licorice that often develops into spicy aromas of musk, truffles, and leather.

Cornas wines are best paired with red meat, game, mushrooms, and truffles.
