"In 2006, British newspaper The Guardian voted for Bæjarins Beztu Pyslur as the best hot dog stand in Europe. With such a stellar reputation, it’s no wonder that both locals and tourists alike make their way here daily to wait outside in the long, but repudiable fast-moving, queue."
"What's the secret behind the delicious Icelandic hot dog? Maybe it's the fact that they have some lamb meat in the hot dog, maybe it's the fact that they are boiled, or maybe it's the delicious brown mustard or the Icelandic remoulade condiments. Either way, they are delicious and I've never been there without getting 2 hot dogs...or 3."

"The juicy hot dogs, made of beef, pork, and lamb, are served on these clever wooden racks. It has been said that Bæjarins Beztu hot dogs are the best in the world. I can’t speak for the hot dogs of the rest of the world, but I can say that this is one hot dog that shouldn’t be missed."

"They’re really, really good. The meat is extremely high quality, as it comes from our beloved, free-roaming sheep. Additionally, the ketchup is sweetened with apples rather than sugar. This new twist on a favorite condiment along with crispy onions, remoulade sauce, and sweet brown mustard give it a distinctly different flavor than its American counterpart. If you’ve only got one day in Reykjavik, be sure to come to Bæjarins Beztu Pylsur hot dog stand. 70% of Icelanders have stopped here at least ... Read more

"Bæjarins beztu pylsur translates to "The Best Hot Dogs in Town." But for me, I'd change the name to Best Hot Dogs in the World. The hot dog is made with lamb meat and has the perfect snap. The sauce combination is awesome. You've got to order it with the works: yellow sweet mustard, fried onion, raw onion, and remolaði, a mayonnaise-based sauce with sweet relish. So get your start planning your trip now and fly to Iceland in May and check out the hot dogs."

"Wherever you end up, if you get hungry late night, look for the Bæjarins Beztu Pylsur hot dog stand. Tons of Icelanders recommended it to me and it was darn good."

"Baejarins Beztu Pylsur beat my hometown ones for two of its characteristics: super snappy casing and crunchy fried onions. Crunch and snap—that's what I needed! Other toppings include chopped raw onions, remoulade, ketchup, and mustard, but overall it's the fried onions I remember the most."

"What you then get is a long white and fluffy bun and a smearing of goodness. The sausages are a combination of pork, beef and lamb (there are more sheep in Iceland than people). These days the sausages are rumoured to be braised in beer. The meat is sweet, salty and rich. Then there are the sauces. The first is a stripe of ketchup. The second is a special lightly spiced mustard the colour of tree bark. The third is remoulade. It’s a mayonnaise that’s been punched up with gherkins and capers. But ... Read more

"The most famous hot dog stand in Iceland: In downtown Reykjavik is the unassuming Bæjarins Beztu Pylsur hot dog stand (which translates to “best hot dogs in town”). It has been open since 1937 and it’s likely that the vast majority of Iceland’s population has eaten a hot dog from here. It’s even had its fair share of famous visitors including Bill Clinton and Metallica - probably many, many other famous people in secret!"

"The ingredient of the hot dog is interesting. While most hot dogs in the world are made out of pork or beef, the hot dogs here are made from lamb meat. The sauces and sides are also something to shout bravo for! You can have a hot dog with homemade crispy onions and sweet mustard, along with raw onion, ketchup and remoulade. The ketchup is actually made from apples instead of glucose, which makes it so nice and kinda sweet!"
