Dovi is a traditional peanut stew from Zimbabwe made with crushed peanuts, garlic, onions, okra, vegetables such as carrots or potatoes, and stock or other liquids. The dish can be made with or without meat, typically chicken, goat, or lamb. It is recommended to pair it with sadza (cornmeal and water), rice, or mashed potatoes on the side.

Muboora is a traditional African dish hailing from Zimbabwe. It's made with a combination of pumpkin leaves, oil, tomatoes, onions, salt, and soda bicarbonate. The pumpkin leaves need to be washed carefully as they're usually full of soil. They are simmered in a pot filled with boiling water and all the other ingredients until the onions and tomatoes are fully cooked.


Once done, muboora is typically served as it is or with sadza (pap) and a relish on the side. Optionally, cream can be added to the dish, and there is also a version called muboora une dovi that's made with the addition of peanut butter.

Muriwo unedovi is a traditional dish originating from Zimbabwe. The dish is usually made with a combination of onions, tomatoes, peanut butter, oil, water, and greens such as spinach. The spinach is cut into strips and sautéed in oil with onions and tomatoes.


Peanut butter and a bit of water are added to the pot and stirred until the mixture thickens. The lid is closed, and the dish is simmered for a few minutes or until everything is tender. Once done, muriwo unedovi is typically served warm.
