"Whenever we go to Arundel we always have a rock cake at 16h Century tearoom’s, Belinda’s in Tarrant Street. Their rock cakes are served slightly warm with a knob of butter. The cakes have apricot pieces, raisins and flaked almonds inside and dusted on top with a little castor sugar. Without the butter they would be still very nice indeed."

"My favourite were their large and magnificent rock cakes. The taste and texture are sublime packed with dried fruits including sultanas and apricots and a wonderful spicy flavour. They are served warm and dusted with copious amounts of fine caster sugar and a pat of butter. Not many tea rooms serve this old style of rock cake, which is a pity."
