Barrell Bourbon Batch 022 is a cask-strength bourbon bottled at 116.6 proof (58.3% ABV). This expression is a blend of 5-year-old straight bourbons sourced from Kentucky and Indiana, combining the dry, woody characteristics of Kentucky bourbon with the floral and herbaceous notes of Indiana bourbon.
The nose presents rye grain, juniper berry, and delicate florals like elderflower and wintergreen, with hints of gooseberry jam and white peach. The palate is rich and oily, featuring flavors of flan, cappuccino, sweet tea, and s’mores, balanced by rye spice and notes of honeysuckle and candied apricot.
The finish lingers with sweet tea, chicory café au lait, and subtle peppermint candy.
