Ao Yun Shangri-La 2019 is a premium red wine from the Yunnan region of China, crafted at the foothills of the Himalayas as part of an ambitious project by LVMH under the guidance of winemaker Maxence Dulou. Composed of 67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Cabernet Franc, 10% Syrah, and 6% Petit Verdot, the wine originates from vineyards situated at altitudes between 2,200 and 2,600 meters.
The production process involves handpicking grapes from 314 parcels, controlled fermentation, and aging in French oak barrels. The wine features an intense deep purple color, with complex aromas of ripe blackcurrants, cherries, blackberries, and blueberries, complemented by subtle herbal notes such as sage and green pepper, along with well-integrated hints of vanilla, clove, and smoke from new oak.
