Recommendations

"“Just like Happy Days”, this “roadside” stand in Massapequa is a “1950s-style” “institution” where “fast-food” fans brave lines “out the door” to “satisfy a craving” for “cheap” burgers, “amazing fries” and “nostalgia” as thick as the “must”-have milkshakes; there are “no frills” and almost as few tables (“outdoor seating only”), but even if you have to “eat in your car”, it’s worth it for the “old-school” experience."
"Quarter-pounder is a hefty sandwich and despite being somewhat flattened when wrapped in the custom sleeves, it remains plump and juicy. The beef-to-bun ratio is just about perfect, as are the proportions of the condiments, which only complement and never obscure the beef itself."
"No incursions of fast food chains or drive-thrus have ever been able to take it down. The current blended, bulked up, dressed up, piled up burger trend can’t touch it either. Why? Because All American has not changed the classic great product it offers: fresh all beef patties delivered daily from a real butcher, cooked with a sprinkle of raw onion and dressed with a pickle and a slice of American cheddar."
"This is All American, a drive-up hamburger stand that has been a part of Long Island life for over 40 years. Under continuous management by the Vutaggio family since its founding in 1963, All American is what MacDonald’s used to be: a good, high-quality hamburger stand run by people who take pride in what they do and care about the food they serve and the customers that eat it."
"The 21 Essential Hamburgers of America: All-American Drive-In - Founded in 1963 as a true drive-in, its burgers — including cheeseburgers and the McD's-like Quarter Pounder with Cheese — seem untouched by time."
"The burgers are a little reminiscent of McDonalds, in that they have almost the same size, but yield a much meatier taste, not to mention they come with the classic pickle and onion garnish we all know and love. The fries are SO FREAKIN GOOD! These aren’t your boring, bland, starch sticks which are fried in tallow. They are thick, crispy, smooth and not too salty."
"Do you remember how McDonald’s used to taste when you were a kid, before they started dumping tons of salt, additives, and crap in their beef? That’s what All-American will remind you of, not the high octane garbage Mickey Dee’s is now. Are you in the Massapequa area, do you want a quick burger that’s made fresh to order and some of the best fries and rings in the county? Then get your ass to All-American and check out this neighborhood staple."
"Since 1963, this family-owned drive-in has been serving nice little burgers and French fries to generations of loyal customers."
