"Founded in 1947 and still run by the same family, this is a friendly, fast-moving joint overlooking the fishing boats in Marina Grande. There’s a large informal dining room, complete with youthful photos of former patron Sophia Loren, a romantic terrace by lapping waves, and a menu of straightforward dishes such as clam spaghetti."
"Patience pays off with some old-time classics, such as fritto misto (deep-fried calamari and little fish)."
"Here was where proper Spaghetti alle Vongole was made, with a thick slather of olive oil, its creaminess cut by a hint of marinara sauce and a generous amount of clams to be slurped down with a little amount of sauce in its shell."
"For lunch, we walked along the beach and carefully sussed out every restaurant. Were there many people in there? Are they foreigners or Italians? What is the menu like? We chose the furthest one away from the jetty that was packed full of Italians, Trattoria Da Emilia, and both had Spaghetti Vongole and a salad. Mmm—Mmmmm!"
"Our favourite place we had this at was Trattoria da Emilia, down by Marina Grande. This dish can be made with or without tomatoes but personally, I prefer the tomato version, whilst in Italy we undoubtedly had the tastiest tomatoes ever, their flavour coming from the warm climate and rich volcanic soils."
"Trattoria de Emilia is a local seaside restaurant in Sorrento serving freshly caught seafood, my favorite being spaghetti with clams. The noodles came out steaming, covered with fresh clams in a buttery sauce. The spot seemed to be popular among the locals and well worth the long wait for a table."
"Tucked away on the charming Marina Grande, Da Emilia is something of a Sorrento institution, which in this case does not distract from the genuinely good food they have on offer. It is a seafood trattoria and you had better order seafood here. If you want a classic Sorrento lunch, order the spaghetti and clams and a glass of Falaghina."
"Trattoria Da Emilia is my personal go-to and I’ve eaten there many times over the years. The small seaside restaurant has been a Sorrento mainstay since 1947 and serves simple, but delicious dishes like Spaghetti with Clams (my favorite)."
"We saw everyone ordering this platter, so we followed suit - and it turned out to be such a good decision that we came back the next day and ordered it again. It was that good."
"Wonderful fresh fried fish, heads included, we found a cat to feed those to. Lots of locals, which is always a good sign."
