Sushi pizza

Recommended by Alice Phan and 8 other food critics.
“Doshi”, a sushi in the form of a doughnut. What was spectacular is that the bottom bun is deep-fried, giving a crunchy and sticky savoury flavour (like banh chung chien for my the Vietnamese food eaters)! It was very difficult to eat, but the mess came with any other novelty sushi, you better be seated when consuming it!"

"But what you really wanna try is the new food trend: The doshi, aka doughnut-shaped sushi. Yes, it’s as tasty and awesome as it sounds."

"The shop also serves up Donut Sushi, which is labeled as 'Doshi' on the menu. These donut-shaped creations consist of rice layered with seaweed, spicy mayo, veggies and other toppings."
"Doshi. The do(nut) + (su)shi is what makes Square Fish different from the rest. The bottom layer is a fried rice patty topped with lettuce, crab meat salad, egg, seaweed salad, and the fish of choice. On top of all that is another rice patty (not fried) layered with fish and avocado."
"The Doshi consists of two donut shaped rice layers with edamame, spicy mayo, lettuce, corn, salmon/shrimp/tuna/veggie, and seaweed sandwiched in between. It’s a very messy, but very delicious dish."
"The doshi is what I’d likely most recommend coming here for. We go for tuna. Two rings of sushi rice, the bottom one wrapped in cheese and deep-fried until crispy, sandwich a harmonious combo of lettuce, seaweed salad, classic sauce, mango, edamame, spicy mayo, corn, and tuna."
"If you love sushi, then you’re gonna love all of the different varieties of sushi that you can get. Why not grab a sushi donut at Square Fish on Queen West?"
"The city’s first and only sushi doughnut, or “doshi” if you will, is like if sushi pizza and say, a bagel with lox, spawned. A crispy rice “doughnut” with a cheesy centre comes piled high with—in order of appearance—veggies, seaweed salad, imitation crab, tuna, a sushi rice “doughnut,” avocado and more tuna."
"AKA doshi, the sushi doughnut can be devoured at Square Fish in downtown Toronto. To the untrained eye this might just look like a sushi pizza, but there’s a hole in the middle presumably to tap into every Canadian’s obsession with Tim Hortons."
