"Myeongdong Kyoja is a family-owned restaurant in operation since 1966. The restaurant, which offers only four items on the menu, specializes in mandoo and Kal-guksu."
"The one dish that I really enjoyed and would recommend would be the Bibimguksu – cold soft wheat noodles tossed in this special spicy red pepper paste sauce. The spiciness is what we would call 'shiok' (Singaporean) or 'mashiseoyo' (Korean)."
"Despite the impressive number of patrons that flock over daily, all the dishes, including its signature garlic-laden kimchi, are made in-house. Simple décor and service come with hefty portions at affordable prices."

"Myeongdong Kyoja’s kimchi is one of the best I ever had, made with abundant amounts of hot pepper and garlic, salted with sea salt, and stored for at least 3 years."

"'So simple yet delicious!' My 1st reaction to the Kalguksu as it looked like an unassuming modest bowl of noodles. But the whole mouthful was a pleasurable surprise – the noodle’s texture was exceptionally slippery smooth, like a much softer form of udon. The chicken broth soup clear yet nourishing, didn’t need much salt to enhance its taste, a comfort dish with ingredients of minced meat, dumplings and vegetables."

"Another thing to note is their kimchi, which comes as part of the complementary banchan (korean side dishes). It is seriously the spiciest kimchi I’ve had."

"Choose from kalkuksu, bibimkuksu, kongkuksu (cold soybean soup with noodles), and mandu. Since 1966, the restaurant has offered only these four items, meaning Myeongdong Kyoja has perfected them."
